Coronavirus is spreading around the world

The coronavirus is spreading around the globe at a rapid pace than everyone had expected. Every country is trying to rescue its people from the most infected place in the world which is Wuhan in China. China is where the coronavirus started which now has been given a new name which is COVID-19. It is called COVID-19 because of the following:

CO - short for corona (the first 2 letters)
VI - short for virus (the first 2 letters)
D-19 - D is for December and 19 is for 2019, the month and year in which the coronavirus has emerged.

A lot of news websites around the world are raising their concern about the virus as deaths are rising over 1500.

The India Times main story is about the Coronavirus which has tallied up to 1500 deaths already in a space of 2 months. It has spiked dramatically. In single day alone it took the lives of 242 citizens. India is "sending medical supplies" to China later on this week in a bid to help the Chinese people fight the what is now called COVID-19 epidemic (colloquially known as corona virus). India’s goal is to rescue as many Indian’s who are trapped in China and bring them back to their homeplace. Indian citizens are still being evacuated from Wuhan. Other countries is also helping China as they deem fit.

On other news website such as the Vuuzle tv it is raising concerns that there is a "good chance" that the coronavirus will not be gone forever. It seems that it can be a seasonal flu, and comes back every winter to haunt us. Another outcome can be that through public health interventions the virus can be controlled but not totally removed. The third outcome could be that pharmaceutical companies manufacture a vaccine for it. But still these are measures to control the virus and not for the virus to come to an end. Like the coronavirus there are 4 other permanently present viruses in the global population and they call cause a common cold, pneumonia and deaths.

The New York Times main story was about the Corona virus crisis that has "hit Italy". The country has announced that are more than 150 cases in Northern Italy mainly around the city of Milan. France’s new health minister, Olivier Veran, is concerned about the situation as he said that: “there is a problematic situation at the door, in Italy”. The virus began in the town of Codogno, southeast of Milan when a 38-year-old man was diagnosed with the virus. 10 towns were locked down after many cases emerged in the Lombardia Region.

The BBC World News main story was about the carnival celebrations in Venice Italy has been "cut short" as Italy imposed lockdown. Mark Lowen a BBC reporter describes the situation as horrible. He said that:

"We’re near the exclusion zone beside Codogno, the epicentre of Italy’s Coronavirus outbreak. Police say if we cross here, we’d need to quarantine and couldn’t leave for some time. A resident told me by phone just one fruit/vegetable shop is open in a town of 16,000 people".

Italy are trying to control what is now being called as the worst outbreak of the coronavirus in Europe. Italy’s tally of coronavirus cases has risen to 152. Top-flight football matches have been postponed and other sporting events cancelled. 50,000 people are not allowed to enter or leave various towns in the regions of Veneto and Lombardy. Italian Prime Minister Guiseppe Conte announced on Saturday that “extraordinary measures” are coming into force to control the corona virus cases.
